Magnum Double Chocolate: Guilt Pleasure

6 Comments Posted in: Food Trip, Sweets, The Foodies | Tags: Ice Cream, Magnum Double Chocolate Ice Cream, Magnum Ice Cream | May 20, 2012

I know that this was a rather late post on the once overwelming popularity of Magnum Ice Cream. I was never the type to ride on anyone or thing’s popularity, on the other hand I steer away from those. That’s why when Magnum became a hit, I never dared buy. And now that the fame subsided I decided it’s the time to have one.

We just finished eating dinner and I need something sweet. A meal is never complete without a dessert, that’s my motto. I wanted to have an ice cream so we headed to the nearby grocery and then I saw Magnum. Still I chose something else but later on decided I have to face the inevitable. I chose Magnum Double Chocolate.

I can say it was worth all the hype, the double chocolate – outer chocolate coating + inner chocolate coating + vanilla ice cream was a perfect mix (sorry for the dark pictures).

I was pretty happy with my dessert choice until I saw that it has 314 calories! I have to burn that for an hour on a threadmill but I guess indulging once a while is acceptable. Maybe once a week eh?

It seems overpriced. Korean popsicles are better tasting. Try it.

I second the notion. A meal isn’t complete without dessert. I’m not sure if they’re the same, but what we have here in the Philippines is Magnum Chocolate Truffles, aside from the Classic and Almond.

I haven’t tried it as well. It’s just ice cream and expensive at that?!

Ah but I’m not one to talk. I don’t have any regrets spending 50php on sundae~
